Of course there are, but that's not the same as

My 6yo boy has a switch. 99% of the time hes playing Minecraft on it.
We also have a pool, 3 acres of woods and a giant bucket of legos he also enjoys equally.
Who gives a crap if he's chilling with the switch? Y'all are so judgemental.

I am lazy, but I’ll give you my anecdote.
I have a 21 year old. No smart phone or tablet until he was 15 or so. He had no idea how to use one or a computer. Technology idiot.
I have 4 younger ones (7 - 14) and they’ve all had access to tablets, phones, and laptops. They are light years ahead of my oldest when it comes to using technology. So, I don’t care what anyone thinks. I’m doing them a favor by getting them electronic babysitters.

Often times on Saturdays and Sundays me and my toddler wake up before my wife.
We walk the dog, he “helps” me make coffee and breakfast, then we often sit together on the couch or in his bed and watch a show on my IPAD.
So spending time with my son is poor parenting and laziness to you?

I guess. Three of my kids have tablets - two of them have laptops - the youngest doesn’t have any tech yet
They’re only allowed to play on the weekend if their chores and schoolwork are done. I’ll let them play during the week occasionally- but I don’t see the difference between vegging out in front of the TV or with a tablet (we don’t have cable)

Are parents not allowed any downtime?

Well, I guess I’m lazy cause I give my boy my phone for educational videos every once in a while.
We play outside together and laugh together every day. I’m always there and tell him I love him and I’m proud of him.
Ain’t that most of it?

My kids attend prep schools but if they were around there is no way I'd let them have ipads. Seems like lazy parenting.

Taken too far, it really fricks up a toddler.
BIL has a 3/4 year old that lives exclusively in a virtual world.
He doesn't communicate very well with others and gets nervous around people. When you take away his tablet, he stares at the TV screen.
It's awful. This kid also has some baby mama drama issues and is probably neglected in some form or fashion by his mom.

Only lazy if they don't set limits. They would be social and technological outcasts if they didn't have them.
Both my young kids have them and they are well adjusted, have friends, doing well in school and are into sports.
I let them use their tablets more than I probably should, but then again when I was their age I played NES more than I should have. Turned out well anyway.
You can't live under a rock.
