No I won't.

Helping someone by running their record, checking their registration... anything to ratchet it up to more interaction. Easily could be justifiable, but it's 99.8% likely how the situation escalated.

Unless you’re a complete piece of shite, having your record run isn’t something that should concern you enough to shoot a cop.

I’m really not looking to get into the politics of all this on the OT, but what is it about the Democratic Party that draws lawlessness to it (Antifa, 1968 dem convention, etc)? Seems like the typical republican wouldn’t participate in an act like this.

You're wrong. They do it all the time.

You're wrong. I have seen hundreds of troopers and deputies pass right by disabled motorists. I drive about 80-100 miles on I-4 every single day. I have seen thousands of people pulled over, getting a ticket, but have only ever seen them pulled over if there was a wreck. They seldom stop for a non -ticket event, unless a car is too close to the road, or wrecked.

Maybe you are partially right and they stop for 1 out of 100.

This is the key to your statement. I'd say the typical Dem wouldn't participate in an act like this either. Now the ultra left, Antifa type and similar groups..BLM.. (who do vote Dem) would. Its the same thing as me saying what is it about the Republican Party that draws racism and hate (White Aryan Resistance, National Vanguard)… The point being we shouldn't let the idiots at either extreme side define Reps or Dems. Thanks in Advance for the downvote.

Calling BS on this. Got a flat on I-285. There was very little shoulder on which to change said flat. Georgia State Patrol saw us and stopped, and diverted traffic so we were safe.

I hate it when people vilify LEOs to fit an agenda. Yes, like any % of the populus there are bad apples, but by and large they're good people who want to help others.

This agrees with what I said, yet you say you are calling BS.

More times than not, by a substantial amount, Florida state Troopers do not stop to help broken down motorists. I believe they are in contact with the Road Rangers, who do stop to help broken-down motorists.

Not vilifying anything. They are troopers, not mechanics.

If this is why it escalated to a shooting, then none of this mattered anyway.

Exactly this. I've been involved in a hit and run accident before cell phones... honked and flashed my lights at several cops driving by. They couldn't be bothered to slow down or stop. After a long hike and pay phone call, they showed up... only to harass me. Other driver was long gone. Was DD'ing a bunch of less than sober friends, and they spent more time interrogating me about my passangers than asking about the accident.

Another police officer was shot and killed in Alabama late last night

Officer Nick O’Rear of the Kimberly, AL Police Department.

Kimberly is one of three SMALL towns that makes up my community (I live in one of the three towns). It’s very sad around here, but everyone is being supportive of the police department and his family. A local florist is making blue bows for everyone in the community to put on their mailboxes.

Officer O’Rear has two kids with another on the way, and was Kimberly’s first and only K-9 unit officer.
