Get that Whipple done ASAP. My mother went in for the same surgery and by the time they got in there the cancer had spread rapidly. They stopped the procedure midway thru and said there was nothing more they could do. Gave her a six month life expectancy and she passed away at the 5 month mark. Chemo wasn't an option for her because it was already so aggressive.

Sounds like they caught yours very early, so maybe they can get you back in good shape. That's the thing about pancreatic cancer, if you catch it early enough, the chances of survival go up dramatically.

Is there anyone else in your area with Cancer? Just making sure it's not a water issue or some type of chem exposure.

Prayers to both of you. I also ask for prayers for my dad who was diagnosed with brain cancer right before Easter. We thought it was a stroke, but it turned out to be Glioblastoma, a very aggressive and ruthless form of cancer. He's going through chemo and radiation, but even with treatment, the survival rate beyond a year is not good.

Oh man, that is a tough one! I will send some up for you and your family.

One of my friends had the same diagnosis. He went to the same hospital and had the same Dr do his Whipple. He just celebrated 7 years of being cancer free. I pray that your outcome is the same.

First May God Bless You, your daughter and your family. No one should have to involve that much bad news in such a short period of time. Secondly, you’re right. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest and has a very low survival rate, BUT, you got it early, which is so fortunate for you. It’s so deadly and deemed the silent killer because there are usually no symptoms until it’s too late. Yours was caught early, which happens in about 10% of its cases and your survival rate, after 5 years has gone up dramatically. Now you can be there for your daughter:)

Will be in prayer for you and your daughter.

Please consider MD Anderson. They definitely helped my mom live beyond expectations with dedifferentiated liposarcoma. Her team out there were incredible people.

I will pray for you and yours but folks may have been praying previous.

There is no "best" case with the discovery of Pancreatic Cancer but yours sucks less than most. If the the gall bladder issue had not occurred 50/50 may have been 0/100 by the time it was discovered.

Fight with all you have,.
