That was a good place....my grandmother used to take us kids shopping there right before Christmas, it was always a must do.
Also, the restaurants inside of Maison Blanche and DH Holmes were always pretty good as well..... the one at Lakeside used to have so many "interesting" types there at lunch like Carlos Marcello.

Growing up in Columbus, GA, there was a local pizza institution called Deorio's. I moved away but heard it recently closed up shop. It hadn't been the same for the 10 years or so anyways, but I sure do miss it. It was a birthday dinner spot for me many a year.

Have 2 within 30 minutes here. Thought that place was completely gone until randomly driving by one.

When you are talking about the East and Downman, you left out Augie's Tower of Pizza. His pizza was great, but his Italian dishes like the veal and chicken piccata were frickin unbelievable

Vince's at the corner of Staring Lane and Highland Road. It's now that nasty George's.

Is it true the building has been torn down and just an empty parking lot now?

Carlos's ...first in Denham Springs and then by the Airline Circle. Had the most incredible tamale pie.

I think there is a building under construction there that will have apartments and offices. It is part of the Mid City revitalization thing.

Oh, it is the same alright. Nothing has changed. Great food and great service.
