Who else has done this? It is strangely one of the most uncomfortable things

I have a friend that says he falls asleep
Listening to music on headphones and I think he is from another planet.

Agreed. Maybe I could get away with rain sounds but any type hurt my ears and get in the way after some time.

Only when I'm sleeping with someone who snored aggressively

You must not remember how loud your mom snores

I fall asleep every night with an airpod in one ear. I have a problem stopping my mind from racing, so I have found that a boring documentary or podcast that I have enough interest in to pay attention to will put me to sleep within about 20 minutes. David Attenborough can be good, but sometimes an animal will screech or howl or make some noise during sex that will pierce the calm. The best is the podcast series about the American revolution.

Strange as this may sound, I actually can’t fall asleep when everything is quiet. I have a few movies and tv shows that I repeatedly watch and I’m out like a light in less than 10 mins.

A while back there was a story about a girl who fell asleep with her airpods in and swallowed one of them in her sleep.

Fall asleep every night with an audiobook playing with a bluetooth earbud in one ear.
Helps with severe tinnitus.

There was a time that I slept in a very loud place with minimal resources. I made ear plugs out of plastic wrap and balls of paper. They worked beautifully as noise cancelling headphones.

We use Alexa for some white noise while sleeping, but I absolutely hate the feeling of being on my side with one of my AirPods against the pillow in my ear.

I used to fall asleep like that alot as a teen.
I had to use headphones, or all my music would've been confiscated and destroyed. Which made 14 year old me more passionate about black metal. So now I actually fall asleep easier when I do this nowadays.

I have some Google ear buds. Put some sleep sounds from a Spotify playlist and night night.

I sleep with my left airpod in every single night. It falls out while I sleep.

Amazon has some <$20 Chinese things called cozy something or another headband earbuds.
I don't even like sleeping with a watch but for some reason I can sleep with these. Put on some binaural beats white noise (fan noise) and I'm gone. Good for blocking out the screaming kids on the rare occasion I don't get up with them.

I’ve done it since I was a teenager and still do so a good bit. Back then it was usually something like Led Zeppelin, but starting in college I began listening to classical at night. These days it’s usually classical or ambient stuff like Neil Cowley.
For the past ten years, I’ve been using JVC Flats for bedtime music. They sound good, they’re cheap, and, we’ll, they’re flat. So it’s easy to roll around with them comfortably.

I remedied this by acquiring a bluetooth face mask. One of my best purchases ever.
