Yet you are still more likely to die in the accident. Go fricking figure.

You might be out of the loop, but we have made some fairly major decisions based on these models. Those decisions have made basically everyone lose money. People don’t like to lose money because of bad decisions made by others

I don't see how anyone can look at the data and say its bullshite. All of the evidence suggests that the strict regulations have resulted in the very thing it sought to do - limit the effect of disease on hospital systems in order to reduce deaths. Which, in turn, will allow everyone to get back to work quicker.

I don't think there is anyway to look at the data (especially Louisiana's R(0) rate 14 days ago) and believe we would still be seeing these results without the restrictions.
Believing the restrictions is why Louisiana isnt already out of vents and beds is hilarious

Did it help? Yes. Is it the reason we arent completely out of beds and vents already like they told us? You dont beleive that

And yet they all get to vote...

Scary, huh?

The time for most people to use critical thinking skills, especially in a tough situation, has passed.

Just easier to panic or act on the emotion of the moment.

Hopefully, someone has some bookmarks saved from the assholes that were cheering on mass death. They need to be called out for that crap at least one more time.

It says the peak is april 15th. Was that 5 days ago?

That's for the entire country. If you change the tab to Loisiana, it says the peak was 5 days ago.

But dying in an accident doesn't infect others.

That isn't how any of this works.

Very persuasive argument!

And yes, that is exactly how this works.

I'd like to see them because this sounds like a strawman set up to discount anyone that might have a different opinion. I doubt many, if any, are hoping for the worst.

that doesn’t absolved you from not wearing the seatbelt.

Yours was a question of blame.

Hit someone while you're drunk and ask your attorney to use the "but they weren't wearing their seatbelts" defense.

I'd love to see how you think that would work out for you.

My kid could be at daycare instead and be exposed to 50+ kids. We are being asked to limit interaction. Letting my kid have a play date won’t kill anyone who wouldn’t die from this anyway. The fact people think that’s possible is fricking retarded.

Or, you could just follow basic fricking guidance from people much more intelligent than yourself.

You're that idiot who bitches about seatbelt laws, then cites a reduction in deaths from car accidents as proof that they weren't needed in the first place.

That is a thoughtful metaphor but apropos of what?

No, I doubt we would have reached the upper range even with no restrictions. It was possible but statistically unlikely. That doesn't mean it would not have been really, really bad without those restrictions and we have real-time models that show how bad it gets if it breaks the threshold of medical system capacity.

That’s all well and good, except JBE has been telling us daily what a shitty job we’ve been doing for 3 weeks

Im pretty sure most models considered preventive measures.

If it turns out it was the wrong decision, it will be deemed a bad one. You know this.
