When oil is low, it’s good for the overall economy of the country as fuel and raw material prices are now lower.

When oil is high, it’s great for exploration and production (Houma, Lafayette, Grand isle, other upstream reliant areas such as the Permian basin, etc) but is bad for the rest of the economy (including refineries) as fuel and raw materials are more expensive.
Exactly right. Energy is everything, and everything is energy. Cheap energy lubricates the economy, expensive energy clogs it up.

That's why it's so important to move away from energy sources that have variable but unavoidable fuel unit costs and toward those that have unit costs approaching free. Hate for China to beat us in this energy revolution.

No they aren't. They're getting exactly what Biden and Harris promised them. The dems spent years telling everyone exactly what they would do and they're doing it. Don't let Biden voters lie to you by pretending to be disappointed.

Anyone who voted for Biden and didn't see this coming is too stupid to walk and chew gum at the same time.

80 miles to work? You should just move closer and take public transportation. It’s powered by renewable energy

Better yet he could move close enough to walk or bike to work. You people need to start embracing a world without internal combustion engines.

I just paid $3.09 a gallon for regular gas this morning. Now with vehicle prices it is going to cost a fortune to buy a small gas saver for my drive to work (80 miles a day). I've always had a gas saver to drive to work until the last couple of years due to gas being so cheap
What do you drive now and how much did it cost?

Nothing quite like doing this in S LA where it's 90 degrees half of the year and rains 4 days a week

Biden and company are doing exactly what they told their voters they were going to do. Their voters are such sheep, they didn't realize what that meant and didn't understand the economics of their vote.

This begs the question...why the hell do you have a second vehicle that you don't use for work that is less economical?

Has it gotten to $1.50 in the last 10 years?

Saw it in AR for $0.99/gal in April of 2020.

I have a full size truck that sucks gas so i made the decision when gas prices were high to purchase a smaller vehicle that would off set the cost of gas while saving miles on my truck. Once gas went down the cost difference wasn't worth maintaining and paying insurance on 2 vehicles

It was never worth it. You should have sold the full size truck.

A better question is when the price of gas rises sharply why do people trade vehicles to a more economical model when in most cases it will take many years to recoup the cost of buying another vehicle by gas savings alone.

Ugh yeah, it was cheap as shite under Trump. How do you not remember this? Everything has skyrocketed across the board in cost since Biden took over.

China is beating us in the energy revolution (whatever that is...your words) because they use the frick out of coal and the greens won't let us build more nuclear plants here.

Gas went from $2.79 a gallon for regular unleaded on Saturday to $3.07 today.

But I’m sure it’s not Biden’s fault like nothing ever is.

I would estimate that 75% of this country supported lockdowns, income supplements, shutting down schools, capacity limitations, upward pricing pressure on wages, the fear porn from the media and the shaming of people who wouldn't comply with the arbitrary Covid restrictions.
