Earth's population will hit EIGHT BILLION next week: Key milestone for humanity as life expectancy increases… with headcount already triple the 2.5 billion of 1950

By 2030, the world's population will reach 8.5 billion and by 2100, 10.4 billion

Population growth was growing at its slowest pace since 1950, figures show

A key factor driving global population growth is increased live expectancy

People in India and Africa don't know how to use condoms. Everywhere else the population is stable or in active decline.

Is it possible that with that many people and all of that extra weight, especially with the obesity epidemic, that we could shift Earth out of its orbit? - Hank Johnson

The problem is that the population isn’t growing in countries that can sustain it. It’s growing off the charts in nations that require the rest of the world to keep them afloat.

It wouldn't shock me if things get messy again in Africa like the 90s if the population booms and there isn't enough food to go around. Nigeria is supposed to be at 400 million people by 2050. This is a country that's not that much bigger than France, which has 65 million people.

Go to youtube or search Peter Zeihan. He is an expert on how energy and demography affect geopolitics.

He basically predicted everything that is happening now in 2015.

Earth's population will slowly start to go down again. I read it would happen BEFORE the 10 billion mark. All over the world demographics have been below replacement level.

The only place thats way above is Africa, but a lot of that has been fueled by western involvement in the region providing them with technology and healthcare.

Western aid has allowed for their population boom far beyond their ability to self-sustain.

that is the problem and its going to eventually(along with asinine US economic policy and spending) going to cause a big arse reset and severe depression.

it will be hard on those in the US but eventually we will be fine and in the grandscheme of things we will come out ahead.

the US only has growth rate of under 0.6% and median age is increasing big time. we went from being well over 6% of world population in the 1950s to being at 4.25% now.

Africa is growing like crazy. 28 out of the top 30 and the top 25 overall in terms of growth rate are all from africa. there is not a 1st world country in the top 50.

its fricking nuts how much africa, ME & certain asian countries are growing.
