Oh yeah, the day driving was enjoyable. The views were amazing.

Night driving felt like a different world.

We were in BVI going up a hill in a Suzuki Samuri type vehicle and it started pouring down rain. We were sliding all over the place and my wife was freaking out. I told her it was all good and I had it. In reality I was white knuckling that steering wheel and needed a drink when we got to where we were going.

The street gangs in Gatlinburg are worse than South Chicago.

There is nothing really scary in Gatlinburg. You want good ole boy scary, head over to Happy Valley. Boogertown Rd is filled with cabins and airbnbs and shite now.

I will up the ante with Newport and Cocke County.

Roads in rural Costa Rica and Ireland laugh at Boogertown Road.

This is exactly why I refuse to drive there in the winter months. Driving on inclines and declines on icy mountain roads with my family in the vehicle with me is not my idea of a relaxing time since I’d rather not slide right off of a mountain.

Got lost one night on a mountain in Gatlinburg. GPS was not working with all the twists and turns. It sucked.

Easy. Just keep driving downward.

I pick and choose my road conditions. That ain't fear so much as it is wise.

Happy Valley is about the same as the worst part of those. I had a moronic friend that tried to live there to be close to deals gap. It didn’t end well for him.

Ducktown general area is getting up there now too, has always been rough, but they have been stepping up lately. Don’t leave anything around the dams out there anymore when no one is around. Trying to restore the water warning system at the Olympic center after it burned down was an adventure.

Get a topographic map from the 50's. Compare it with the current google map. Mark the roads on the topo map that google doesn't recongize as roads.

If you make it through, give us a holler.

I have in mind a road over Clinch Mountain that's no longer a road though it still exists.

Gotta watch gps programs in the mountains. Especially in winter. They’ll get you killed. Once had the gps take up and our 2WD SUV down some 4x4 trails.
