SIAP - National Geographic

quote:

Deep in the Everglades, a voracious invader with attractive spotted scales is taking over. The Argentine black-and-white Tegu, a large lizard that can grow up to four feet in length, has already proliferated widely throughout South Florida. But it’s not stopping there. These invaders have started popping up throughout the southeastern United States, posing a potential threat to native species and farmers.

How long before we get Tegu-Gumbo?

Apparently those people at National Geographic don’t know shite about the Cajuns or the animals that live in LA swamps. The threat is to those tasty lizards. It will be a week before they figure out the best recipe to grill that tail meat.

In 2 years they will have a spinoff of swamp people hunting these frickers down. We been hunting gators for a long time. Now there's a spinoff with them hunting those pythons in Florida. Next up its Tegu hunting season.

My family in upstate New York watches all of those swamp people shows and they legit think that's what we do day to day. I like to play into it and say, "damn right, its not a normal day unless you kill a gator before lunchtime. What else we gonna eat for lunch?!" And they believe every word of it. Dumb yanks

We’ll have to find a city to host the annual Tegu Festival.

Blow pipe hunting the swamps of Florida proved to be an eye opening adventure. These massive reptiles were everywhere. Captured some cool kill shots and brought home some beautiful skins and white meat. Check it out. If you ever want a cheap but exciting hunt for invasive creatures. This is it!!

Apparently they eat well

Every single time I manage to get all my Yankee coworkers educated that we don’t all live in a swamp and drive a pirogue to work, the national news runs a story of some house in Denham Springs where they wake up to find a 8 ft alligator on the porch. Then I have to start all over.
