Dog almost bit my finger off

Wife and I came to my parent’s house because they have power. Our house had dipped down to 52, and we have work to do so I need internet.

Anyway, we brought our pups. One is border collie mix and the other is a pit bull mix. Parents dog is a German Shep mix. We introduced the border collie to their dog, things were fine.

Suddenly their dog flipped and latched on to our border collie’s ear. Long story short, my wife was crying, holding up our dog, parent’s were trying to pry their dog away. I made the conscious decision to stick my hands in to pry their dog’s jaws apart. It worked, not without me getting my left thumb punctured. My right pinkie is mangled. She chomped down right below the nail, there’s several layers of skin removed. Bottom of the nail is popping up. Blood everywhere, and the dog got me pretty good on the right arm.

I’m not going to the ER in this weather. I’m resorting to whiskey and beer. I am not blaming their dog. Dogs are territorial. I may have saved our dog’s life.

My pit bull came out and pawed at me and jumped during the fracas.

Moral of the story. Not all pits are bad. Some dogs are aggressive and some aren’t. Finger hurts like a bitch.
