Looks like Houston-Austin-San Antonio will in 10 years based on that map.

lolno...way too much distance to grab all those cities.

Now, Austin, SA, Houston, and Dallas...

This area is gonna be bananas in a few years once Elon really gets going!

On behalf of the great city of Boston and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, we politely decline the offer.

I’ll allow a megopolis could be considered from Boston to DC

There’s too much rural area between DC and Richmond and Charlotte and Atlanta and Birmingham to qualify going down.

This is absolutely true. I have little doubt that DFW/Houston/SA/Austin will all be one giant suburban sprawl in the next two decades. shite suburbs of Dallas and Houston have better downtowns and skylines than anywhere in LA not named New Orleans.

And the Northeast megalopolis could merge with the Southeast megalopolis.

You can already see it happening...in the next few years we'll likely be referring to the Austin/San Antonio corridor the same way we refer to Dallas/Ft. Worth, so take DFW and add ASA. And that's just going South.

Austin is quickly sprawling North to Waco, as Dallas is quickly sprawling South to Waco. The connection between the three cities is inevitable. It leaves Houston in an interesting spot, though, as the only city of the four that is not on I-35.

For a while we have heard about a rail from Houston to Dallas, but with everything going on in Austin, I think it would be foolish to leave Austin off this, so I think a triangle from Dallas - Austin - Houston makes more sense in the future.

The parts surrounding Birmingham that don't identify as Birmingham are nice. Mountain Brook, Oak Mountain, Inverness, are all beautiful. Birmingham sucks though.

Maybe.

Since they include Houston in the Texas triangle, the New Orleans-Baton Rouge area is the gulf coast megacity. I’ve seen it referred to it as much in some publications.

Now merely a dwarf planet in the Kuiper belt.
