I can only find the ones made in random Asian countries.

Vice-grips the brand is no longer manufactured in America, production stopped in 2008 and was moved to China.

Get Knipex. Made in Germany and everything they sell is a quality hand tool.

They are great but absurdly expensive. $100 a pair basically last I looked for your avg size.

Was on the Snap On truck a month back, they’re selling the original Vice Grips, supposedly made with the original tooling or to those specs, whatever you wanna call it. The pair I fondled was WAY tighter than what you buy at the hardware store. $75 a pair.

Are these any good? As in, hit them with a hammer if need be. Will you vouch for them?

Look for NOS on ebay or purchase Malco Eagle Grips. They bought the old USA Vise Grip Factory where Petersen made them originally and have been producing new locking pliers there based on the Vise Grip design, 100 percent USA made from USA steel.

FYI, they are not cheap but are way better than the Asian imports that Irwin is putting out.

*Edit* I see someone else mentioned them first but I would vouch for them. Gave my pops some and its a farm and they get used and abused.

Nothing beats German engineering but $100 seems excessive.

I would just cruise eBay and buy an older pair. Rusty or not as that is easy to remove. Best quality usually.

$100 for Vise-Grip(like) pliers?

shite, at that price, I'll just buy the Chinese stuff. I won't make it to $100 if I used them 3 times a week and bought a new set when they broke in my lifetime.
