I wish to be cremated, and to have my closest living relative hold the urn high while everyone else in the room drops to one knee in the Undertaker’s pose.

I do not. Came into this world without a bunch of hoopla, want to go out without any too.

I want something really expensive and inconvenient to everyone and I want my funeral procession to be at rush hour just to frick up traffic a little bit more

No, cremate me and scatter the ashes at sea.

And if I finally die in peace
Just wrap my body in these sheets
And pour out the gasoline
It don't mean much to me

Nope. I’m being cremated and all I want is a Catholic service for my immediate family only(my wife and kids, my parents, & mybrother and his wife and kids, & my in-laws).

Yup I want my funeral service held in a church. I like it when they show pictures of the persons life in a music video.

I'd prefer not, but I've also come to realize that a lot of things like that aren't necessarily for the departed but for those left behind.

If there's anyone left behind who cares enough and would want to have one, let em do it. I'd just prefer everyone throw a party and celebrate that they don't have to put up with me anymore though.

I dont really want to burden my family with traveling to even more cemeteries and donating to the places that keep the small ones in decent shape.

It's small but I have checks automatically going to little churchs in IL & MO just bc I have family buried there. That and I feel the obligation to visit the place if Im within 200 miles on a trip.

Doesn't matter to me. Funerals are for the living. The people closest to me know that I've given them carte blanche to do as much or as little as makes them happiest.

I don't really care cause I'll be dead. I did threaten to haunt my wife if she buries me in Texas though.

Like a few folks in this thread have said…funerals are for the loved ones that you leave behind. Whatever helps the grieving process along and helps them to get over my death the fastest I am okay with that.

I personally hate funerals with a passion. However, I have recently had loved ones pass away and they wanted to be cremated with no service. It was easier not to have to deal with a funeral at the time, but I still have the feeling of something about their lives being “incomplete”. It is odd to have someone that you cared about so much just disappear forever.

One minute they are there, as they have been your whole life. The next minute, the hospital calls saying they have passed and you never see them again.

I plan on faking my death at some point to get out of a jam so a funeral will be necessary to sell the ruse. Of course I will surreptitiously attend the service incognito, like Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn.
