I got into accident in grocery store parking lot. The nice old lady was very sorry about it and admitted that she was responsible as she is in hurry. I felt bad for her. 2 hours later i got call from state farm that im fully responsible and the lady gave a diff version. It turned into he said she said. Should have resolved it in person

I bet there are cameras outside. Let’s see the video evidence before we help you.

If you plan to use insurance after an accident a police report is best. Problem is on private property they won't always write it up.
Can you prove she was at fault?
Went through intersection without stopping?

Parking lot accidents are a PAIN IN THE frickING arse for insurance companies. Usually both parties end up pissed off because it's usually not done right. They're very hard to prove from a liability stand point without video evidence.

Not likely. Most stores have camera systems that end at the front door.

If only you had a hand held device with photo and video capture technology and maybe even audio recording capability that you could use to document the situation before leaving. You should invent something like that and people could carry it with them.

Even better, you could incorporate some aspect that people could use on a daily basis like telephone calls and text messages. Then when something happened they could use the device to document evidence to keep this from happening.

I had the same situation happen. The only way I was able to get their insurance to pay was hire an attorney and claim injuries.

Try to get her information and appeal directly to her. She may cave to her guilty feelings, never know.

States differ. I was rear ended while at a stop light in California. My car got hit, pushed the trunk over the back, disabled the car that hit me, and my car was launched into the car in front of me.

Anyways, in California if there is no one taken by emergency personnel there isn't a ticket issued or crash investigation.

Sucks balls, but let your insurance take care of business like they are paid to do. The truth will come out.

Tell them the lady lied and that you expect them to fully pay for you property damage - otherwise, they'll be hearing from your lawyer and you anticipate you may have some neck and back pain by tomorrow. Pain like that doesn't usually show until 48-72 hours after an accident.

LoL. Yeah, see how far that stupid statement gets you with an insurance company. All that will accomplish is putting them firmly into Fight Mode and you definitely won't be getting paid by them anytime soon.

I wish we were no fault here.

Just witnessed this Wednesday evening in a busy grocery store parking lot. Was loading groceries and saw a guy back out of his spot and hit a guy driving. Just a tap really, didn’t see any actual damage. The guy driving drives off to find a parking spot(honestly he was pretty old...he may not have even realized his car got hit). Guy who was backing out.....he drives fast to catch up with the other guy and gets out and starts yelling “you hit my car a-hole” to th guy he hit. Everyone around him who saw what happened telling him “um you are at fault cause you backed into him”.
