Do you ever get the urge to sell out and then light out?

Just point the truck West and go without much of a plan and but with the proceeds from selling your stuff.

With these gas prices?? Hell no! Depending on what you drive and what you sell, you may not make it further west than Texas! Unless Texas is where you are going, then I say do it

Why would you even consider going west? I thought Florida was the only destination for anyone nowadays.

My office used to face south and I could watch trains heading east and west. I thought about jumping one, in either direction, at least once a day, everyday for seven years.

I now face north towards the airport. Planes just don’t have the same allure.

I have Grandkids that I am a big influence on and greatly enjoy interacting with, so negative there Ghostrider.

Maybe when I was 15 or 23.

I went to Europe without a plan or a destined time to return in my 20s - just a backpack and a Eurail pass. I didn't own squat and had no obligations. I don't think that I'd do it at this point - but is was a good time then.

I met a lot of Americans over there - we all hung out and partied. One guy got left by his group and they took his wallet on accident. I gave him a couple hundred buck so he could make his flight - he promised me that he'd pay me back. A few months later I got a letter in the mail and sure enough there was $200 in it and a lengthy letter thanking me for the generosity. I found that letter last year in some old files I had stored.

I did the exact same thing after I graduated college. Spent the summer in Europe free as a bird. Good times, great memories.
