Do you consider Key West the Caribbean?

Help me settle an argument. A friend of mine believes that Key West is part of the Caribbean.

No, 100% not Caribbean. 50/50 Atlantic and Gulf but not Caribbean in my opinion.

Yes, or it’s at least closer to islands in the Caribbean than mainland Florida

Your friend is a fool. Key West is factually not in/on the Caribbean Sea.

Whether people want to say it is "Caribbean" because it happens to be an island close to other islands that are in the Caribbean is another matter I guess.
