My racist friend says that only Africans back into their spots.

There is a special place in hell for people who feel like they need to always back into parking spaces.

Not sure. Ask my driver.
Can't believe there's 2 pages full of OT poors.

I do both only because it’s required to back into a spot at my work so I’m used to it. But that being said, there are people out there who back in and have no business doing so because they suck at it. And the sad part is that I know they have back up cameras and still take about 10 point turns only to be cockeyed in the spot.

First move forward is the safest way to approach parking in any situation. Idiots won’t agree but it’s the truth.

People who insist on backing their precious vehicle into a parking space are just a fancier version of the fricks who play scratch-offs at the counter while people are behind them. They too can eat a bag of dicks.

Especially when someone is behind them and they have to wait for the person to back in instead of just pulling in.

Back in or pull through whenever I can.

I have been doing this more and more.
Took a nasty dent in the passenger side of my wife's new car while at the beach. Talk about infuriating.
Otherwise I find a spot I can pull through.

Work truck - Reverse in unless I can pull through and/or the parking spot is at an angle.
Car - Forward park

This.
It's company policy that we have to back into our spots.

Its pretty simple, when turning a vehicle, the front of the vehicle makes the circle while the rear acts more like a pivot point. It is only logical to put the pivot point between two cars and use the space in front for the turning radius.
Vehicles with long wheel bases have a much larger turning radius making it near impossible to pull forward into a parking spot that doesn't have enough space in front of it to turn 80-90 degrees before entering the spot. Most parking spots in the city only have enough room to get the vehicle about 45 degrees.
For perspective, the turning radius of a jeep wrangler is about 18' while an F250 crew cab is about 28' so to make the same turn, long wheel bases require at least 10 additional feet of space. Therefore, truck nut baws aren't flexing by backing in, in fact I would argue the opposite. It is far more impressive to see someone pull forward into small parking spot than back in.

Has it already been six months since the last time this question has been asked here? This is one topic that needs to go away because it pops up 1-2 times a year.
And fwiw I back in 97% of the time, including my own driveway.

Tactical parking son, your vehicle should alway face out.

Several years ago in Tulsa cops raided a remote recreational area for being a gathering place for gay dudes hooking up having butt sex.
Turns out one of the signals they used to identify each other was backing into their parking spots.
