Maybe. Boeckeler Instruments makes microtomes which are used to make very small precision cuts. Otherwise I have no idea what you bought. If you can find a serial # google it.

Is there a blade on a slanted surface? If so, it looks like an older model manual microtome for cutting tissue samples to make slides for microscopic evaluation.
