What’s her reason for loss of revenue? Was this asked? Would love to hear her answer.

It kills me yall have a mayor that you've nicknamed "Destroya". The fact that you have a gif of her head on Godzilla stomping through a city wrecking shite OWNS me.

She said that loss of revenue in New Orleans was not because of the shutdown.
She says “very few” businesses have been closed permanently because of the shutdown.

Then why is she begging for money, then?

I’m assuming she’s saying that people opted not to come so people can’t make money instead of businesses were forced to close.

Which is some nerve when bars are serving go drinks and entertainment venues are closed. And things like the convention center are limited to the point of closure when not utilized by the city/state for disaster response.

Adam Schefter now tweeting that the Saints are meeting with LSU about moving home games to tiger stadium because Destroya won’t approve more fans.

Pretty much

Multiple reasons why they chose not to come. One being the city was shutdown.

I find the games with little to no fans hard to watch.

The sad part is you can’t reason with people that are that stupid. People that are so damn stupid that they don’t realize how stupid they are. People that are so far past being stupid that they think they are intelligent.

This is 100% true. Their ignorance makes them illogical past the point of no return.

I think it's pretty obvious by now that she is not opening more stuff in order to force the state's hand on more money.

quote:

“There are resources we need to be made whole so we can provide basic city services again for our residents,” Cantrell said in the House Appropriations Committee hearing.

Last week at a press conference talking about Delta, she mentioned that the city has a fund for disaster prep, and some of that fund has been spent on prior close calls this year, and that they have "yet to be reimbursed for those expenses".

When you combine that quote from last week, and the quote from today, something becomes clear: She believes the city budget should ultimately shoulder ZERO percent of emergency expenses... that "someone" (i.e. the feds or the state) should fully reimburse the city.

That's not how it is supposed to work. Yes, the state and the feds should help, but the city has to pay some of this as well.

This is dead on accurate. Every criticism is stricken as racist, or white-privileged, or some other nonsense.

You are talking about someone who can’t pay her own taxes and was caught red handed misusing a city credit card. Why did people think she would be able to run the city’s finances?

I doubt the Saints are actually serious about this and I doubt Payton would want to travel to BR to have some fans. This is shot across the bow of the Destroya to force her hand on allowing fans or at least explain why she won't allow them.
