Well I never said Floyd is my hero but it’s certainly a nice straw man to use when you can’t refute anything else.
Floyd was a bad person. Chauvin was a bad person. I’m using the same metric to grade both of them.
But ITT people want to use Floyd’s criminal history against him and say Chauvin’s doesn’t count. I’m just asking we judge everyone on the same merits, which is confusing I know.

I don’t give a frick about what you are asking for though.
I don’t care if you call the Pope a Pedo.
You are an anonymous internet poster.
You are nothing really. At least here. You don’t have the ability to change minds. I don’t understand why you people try.
No one changes their minds here.
So, after all that. frick off is what I’m trying to say.
Oh. Good one. Ouch. You type that from your trusty steed oh Sir White Knight?
You people kill me

Uses logic, but fails. You don't know anything about Chauvin, besides what you've seen on your TV. The dude served his country in the military and was a 17 year cop. He didn't wake up wanting to ruin his life. You don't know what psychological state Chauvin was in. It's amazing we preach mental health and conflict resolution, but want to burn this man to the ground.

roadgator is unstable and is emotionally lashing out because reality is not matching up to his imagination. If you agree that DC is guilty of murder, you are a white knight for the assault of pregnant women

Did we ever get a better story on how the BBC got the verdict before it was read? And how about the rumor that jury members had their phones during deliberation?

everyone knew the verdict, the jury took a handful of hours and didnt ask any questions. It doesnt take jurors leaking or MENSA to figure that one out

Ironic as my post is the only one using the same logic and applying it consistently to everyone involved.
No one here knows anything about Chauvin or Floyd aside from what we see on TV.
But if we can conclude that Floyd is a bad person based solely off his criminal history, logic would dictate we can and should do the same with Chauvin.
It's really as simple as that.
With that logic, they are both bad people. Some people are a little too invested in this and see it as "my side good/other side bad" and selectively apply criteria when it suits them

Bingo. The problem with today's society and polarized political system is that everyone feels they have to choose a side on every fricking issue no matter what the subject matter. Everyone lacks critical thinking and can't think for themselves.
Every single fricking issue. It doesn't matter what the hell it is. People just cling to whatever their "political leaders" spew.
Floyd was a dumbass who'd be dead whether Chauvin put his knee on him or not.
Chauvin is a dumbass who abused his power and facilitated the death of a dude in handcuffs crying for his life.
Ones dead and ones going to spend a long time in jail. Stop arguing over trivial bullshite.

Alan Dershowitz nails it when asked his reaction to the verdict:
Interview with Dershowitz on You Tube
quote:.
Well, first what was done to George Floyd by officer Chauvin was inexcusable morally, but the verdict is very questionable, because of the outside influences of people like Al Sharpton and people like Maxine Waters. Their threats and intimidation and hanging the Sword of Damocles over the jury and basically saying, if you don’t convict on the murder charge and all the charges, the cities will burn, the country will be destroyed—seeped into the jury room because the judge made a terrible mistake by not sequestering the jury. So the judge himself said this case may be reversed on appeal. And I think it might be reversed on appeal, I think it should be reversed on appeal. I think the American Civil Liberties Union, which would be all over this case if it weren’t a racially charged case, all Americans who care about due process and liberty should be concerned that the jury verdict may have been influenced by, if not the thumb, maybe even the elbow of the outside pressures, the fears, the threats. Every juror in that room knew about these threats. And when they sit and deliberate, they have to be saying to themselves, consciously or unconsciously, if I would render a verdict other than a murder verdict, what the consequences will be for me, my family, my friends, my business. That should never, ever, be allowed to seep into a jury room. So I have no real confidence that this verdict, which may be correct in some ways, but I have no confidence that this verdict was produced by due process and the rule of law rather than the influence of the crowd

What if Derek Chauvin was black? Would this ever made the headlines or is it only because a white officer killed a black man? I think police departments nationwide should only be black officers now since they always get a pass on doing their job while white officers get falsely convicted.

I didn’t watch the whole trial, but did Nelson ever beat the drum about GF saying he couldn’t breathe while he was in the car? He didn’t while I was watching, when I thought he had a chance to.

The best part is that you think a scared, threatened jury in a liberal part of Minnesota convicting DC confirms all of your shitty beliefs about the facts of this case.
