No.

We send to crappy public school and put the money we save into travel ball and family stick stickers for our Ford Explorer.

I simply wouldn't live where I have to send mine to private school. I went to a private school.

No.

My oldest is in the magnet program though, so we feel good about her schools and the students in those schools.

Hopefully my youngest will follow her same path.

I also don't live in south LA.

re: Delete
Mine go to private (Catholic) school and we live in Mandeville.

Why: While the public schools are good, the private school we chose has a better family feel to it. The kids will have attended two schools by the time they are out, rather than 4 if in the public system. Plus I wouldn't want my kids congregating with those public school heathens.

Nope, thankfully Texas has elite public schools in nicer areas.

3 in Catholic private school. Mandeville. Stroking that $30k worth of checks is fun every year.

My daughter goes to private school in BR. There are good schools around here in the suburbs but we didn't like the commute. We only have one school aged kid and decided we'd rather just live close to work.

Homeschool is the only way to protect your kids from the bad ideas and brainwashing that goes on in today's educational facilities.

I don’t have kids yet, but my future kids will go to private school and I live in Lafayette. I want to give my kids whatever advantages in life that I can. The group that sends their kids to private school is typically much more successful than the public school group, and my wife and I believe that surrounding yourself with successful/ambitious people will lead to you being more successful/ambitious.

Obviously this doesn’t mean that there aren’t good kids and families in public schools; my wife and I are both products of public school education. And, we have many friends who were also educated in public schools, but these friends are also planning to send their kids to private schools though.

ETA: it also helps that we have a private school (pre-k through 8), in our neighborhood.

When we lived in Jackson, TN, you bet your sweet arse they went to private school. One of the worst school districts you can find in TN.

But we moved to Williamson County recently, and are now saving money because they are in public school, despite my house here costing more than double my house in Jackson.
