Updated forecast says no snow. Move along.

Duke, what’s it gonna take to get a little gulf low with the timing of the cold blast?
We’re all dry for now.
We’re all dry for now.

I like this forecast. I’m gonna go with this

I despise the cold...so what do I do? Move the family to North Texas in 1990, home of Blue Northers and nary a tree of any count..

That sounds like a personal problem.

Going to freeze my little dick off in Chicago.

By this time next week this thread will have turned into a bitchfest about frozen pipes.

We got one of those too, at least one of the peaks is >13000'
Now as to what it takes to get a surface low in the Gulf.
We'll have the main ingredient in place, a sharp spatial temp gradient.
The difficulty is this baroclinic zone is gonna be draped over most of the south. Its why Im pretty sold on someone in SEC country (not including Kentucky because they obv will) getting snow off this pattern.
Its gonna be a question of what the upper levels do. Where you get the left exit/right entrance of the jet stream, exact position of our 500 mb trough, ect.
We're talking a couple of days leadtime on something real in terms of snow.

Already doing it in Colorado.
Leadville Airport reads -8 at 8:30. Got -2 at the house. Easily going to have a few spots in the county hit -20 tonight.

Question, por favor. Does an Arctic outbreak in December mean less frigid air available in January and February? In other words, is there only so much of this shite to go around?

Either that or hundreds bitching that a blizzard didn't happen and calling this all a bust.

Nope.
The arctic is basically a sheet of ice getting no sun until like February. It'll reload.

There might be bitching if its later than Christmas, but its hard to explain the high level of confidence ive had for two weeks now this was gonna happen.
Its obvious.

By joke I meant that freezing rain is not possible at 34°. Only rain, sleet, and snow are.
Wrong.
If the ground is frozen you will get ice. Been there, done that.
*Probably doesn't ever happen in LA.
