Watch The Detail Geek. I’ve sunk a few hours into his detail videos. It’s amazing how trashed women make their vehicles. Like rolling bottom of purses-type trash.

Youtube is quite the content vault, and I’ll admit that I’ve spent many hours watching some seemingly boring shite, including car detailing, commercial carpet cleaning, power washing, and even a guy who owns a landscaping business mowing overgrown lawns.

I should be sleeping but I just watched a 30 minute video of a random dude on YouTube performing a deep detail on a filthy car.

Exactly this. All of it.

Are you me?

Ive been watching The Detail Geek for a while now. I also like some of the stuff AmmoNYC puts out, and some of the longer intense detail videos from Chicago Auto Pros.

When I was in college in the mid 80’s I spent a Summer and Fall detailing for a car dealership body shop. The guys at the main dealership used to talk about the owners pig of a wife and how she would trash out every car she drove and then expect them to get it back to showroom clean.

They said she would literally drink half of a drink, bottle, can, or cup, then toss the rest into the backseat. Same thing with chips, candy, and other food. No matter what the vehicle was. Even the special one of a kind reward cars with crushed leather seats, even DeLorean’s. The detailers said my job at the body shop was easier than cleaning up her messes even though the shop would literally split cars in half and weld another half on.

Never understood why people pay tens of thousands of dollars on a vehicle and then proceed to trash it. My DIL and her 4 yard apes have already trashed 3 $50,000 vehicles in 10 years. Her first one had a permanent smelled of sour milk/formula and vomit.

Cool watch BUT that guy made some really novice mistakes and took some shortcuts detailing that car.

He clayed the car but no apparent wash after? Straight to coating over the clay bar gradeau?

He bothered to remove the seats and center console but left the suction cup cell phone holder on the dash?

He drill brushed the wheels with no apparent brushing of lugnuts or wheel wells? He was already there...take the added 5 minutes to do it right.

Him and his wife are Youtube Stars. They live in a 700-800k house just off their youtube content. They got in some hot water for adopting a special needs kid from China then ditching him a year later because they couldn't take care of him. Their adoption video and trip to China got millions of views. Most think they did it for the money. Lots of stories about these guys.

Back when minivans were the hot thing 95% of them smelled like that at trade in. Hated appraising them.

I assume the owners were like pig farmers. After a while they didn't smell it anymore.

i've watched steps on chemical guys, they usually don't do a rewash but they do sell a wipeout spray that's supposed to clean the surface after the clay bar.

Speak!

Spent 40k on the wife a new 4runner and it looks like something off that Hoarders show and been in two wrecks.

Lesson learned.
