Most of you weren't around back then, so this may not mean much to you. But on this day, the original Great Zombie Manifesto thread began.

It was the best of threads, and one of the longest the site had seen (at the time). If memory serves, it ended up getting into the 40-50+ page territory, and stayed surprisingly on-topic nearly the entire time. The basic premise of the thread was planning for the inevitable zombie apocalypse and we had a VERY intricate plan in place by the end of it. It battled the evil overreach of Chicken, who kept trying to anchor and delete it (because he sucks), but to no avail. The masses (of people posting in the thread) kept championing the cause to get it unanchored, and it may have even had help from a rogue admin or two.

For those who weren't around then, just know that the idiocy of the OT today is the same idiocy that could be found on the OT 16 years ago...it was just on a much smaller scale and was more enjoyable and personable (since we used to have OTGT Bowling nights and whatnot). But alas, this isn't a "Man, the OT used to be fun and it sucks now" thread; rather, it is a tribute to one of the greatest threads this place has ever seen.

Sadly, because Chicken sucks so hard, the thread has been lost to the depths of the internet and shall never again see the light of another day (it was before TD threads were archived, and before the alleged Classics Board even existed). I do have the first 32 pages of the OG thread saved in a Word document (and also converted to PDF) that I've sent out over the years. There was an attempt at a GZM part 2 thread in 2008, and while it was a fun stroll down memory lane, it paled in comparison to the original.

RIP, GZM. You are forever missed and fondly remembered.

I'm just going to say that I'd sacrifice Oweo first, and Owlie second.

Wasn’t here back then but when I saw the date I figured something to do with Katrina, like Lootie maybe.

Been stumping for this since I got here.

If the old ones can't get it done, I'm spinning my wheels.

Also, the Part Two thread happened during the old days of Day Crew vs. Night Crew.

Man, I remember those battles. Night Crew sucked at life and the Day Crew was where it's at.

It's been here for at least 8 years - you got VIP membership or just regular. Gotta request it from wc.

I dm'd some admins over the years, but with inflation now, I can't afford that

I only regret not joining TD until well after the time of the GZM thread. No idea why it took me so long.

Night shift roll call was where it was at. The day crew would get jealous and RA the thread every night.

I was just a lurker at the time, but the golden age of the OT of the 2000's was awesome. No political BS, just pure frickery.
