No it is not no matter how many times you repeat it, seems you are the only dipshit here that regularly walks into others homes.
Yes, it does happen. I’ve done it maybe twice in my life, although I certainly don’t make a habit of it as you seem to think lol. It’s happened to me a couple times as well. If you’ve ever lived in one of those mega apartments you would understand.

I would say that reading what someone puts in writing is a pretty good way to understand their mindset.

Meaning obviously they were not your home, a somewhat large distinction dont you think.
No matter what happened she was not fit to have a badge and a gun, no clue why so many here are trying to excuse her behavior.
It may or may not have been unintentional but it absolutely was not an accident.

Get your looting shoes ready if she does walk.
There's no way she walks and if she does, Dallas would deserve all the riots and protests that would follow. She shot a man in HIS apartment . There was no police action involved. Guy was minding his own business. If a cop can just walk up to your apartment or house (probably blitzed)and wake you start shouting in the middle of the night pull out a weapon and then shoo t as you stand there b wildered...because it's your place. Then none are safe

All of this plus the smear job and delay in tox test means if she walks then DPD deserves the repercussions, they need to burn that place down and start over.

So can we finally put to rest this asinine accusation that media only uses terrible photos for minorities accused of crimes?

Didn't know about that.

Have you ever been to a college apt complex, dorm, or big city apt building? If you are talking about a home in a suburb I might agree. Apartments are different.

At night when tired and colors aren't as bright, its pretty easy to do.
I don't know what happened at the door, how she got in. But knocking or attempting to unlock the wrong apt is very common.
A) I don't immediately shoot people.
B) I wouldn't carry a firearm if I have been drinking.
C) I'm also not a "trained" police officer.

According to some here one needs training to know how to identify one's own apartment.

Last I checked, there are usually series of unique numbers located on or next to the doors that identifies whether or not the apartment belongs to you. But, maybe things have changed since I've lived in an apartment.

It's not the media's fault bitch ain't photogenic. The photo shown is one of 2 equally ugly booking photos, not something taken from her social media she got to shutdown before we ever heard her name.

I have empathy for her too, but what do you think her punishment should be?
Without really immersing myself in the facts
I don’t want to put a number on it, but some jail time has to be involved right?
I agree you can't kill someone and not get jail time. Police are human. She made a mistake. A HUGE mistake. It's going to be extra rough on her since her fellow inmates will have it out for her.
There is this for Texas. I'm inclined to give her something on the low end of the punishment. I highly doubt she will ever own a gun again in the first place.

All manslaughter charges in Texas are second-degree felonies which carry prison sentences of 2 to 20 years and fines up to $10,000.
They could levy a criminally negligent homicide which is 180 days to 2 years.

I have no idea what she even did as a cop? Was she in a squad car?
That's like saying that everyone in the Army is a Ranger. You need cooks and supply guys too.
This whole idea that someone does something off duty makes them not fit for duty is laughable.
I'm also not short and petit. Your state of mind is different if there is someone considerably bigger then you in a potential confrontation. I don't know if that's what happened here and again I'm not excusing her behavior. I've said all along she needs to go to jail.
I just don't believe that acting like she is a crooked cop that walked into an apt and shot a guy in cold blood is necessary.
Posted on 9/23/19 at 12:36 pm to Restomod
I think I remember this thread. I normally tend to rationally side with officers in shooting situations, but remember this being that she was 100% in the wrong. I hope she gets a just penalty for it too.
"I thought this was my apartment" better not fricking work.

Apparently she didn't even enter the apartment....

if she gets off I’ll have lost an immense amount of respect for our judicial system
Well, she was charged with, and is on trial for murder, so the system has pretty much taken this as far as it can. If she gets off, which I 100% agree would be a travesty, it’ll be thanks to a jury of peers, not corruption.

My favorite in the original thread were the group of posters who decided that she must have had a beef with this guy so she went up there and executed him and the "wrong apartment" thing was her planned defense. Laughable really. Not that a police officer could theoretically decide to murder someone (that happens) but that this would have been her plan.
If she had set out to kill this guy on purpose. She would have been able to come up with something / anything that would be better.

Well, criminals generally are not the brightest bulbs.
Not that I think that is what happened, but supposedly she was lit as well so who knows.

What is the issue with that? There are all kinds of things that someone could do off duty that shows they aren't fit for duty. Shooting someone minding their own business in their own apartment should be somewhere close to the top of that list
