dallas firefigter kicks and punches homeless man in the face and head until police arrive

happened in 2019. the firefighter was, is trained in mixed martial arts. he was eventually cleared of any wrong doing. this video just popped up a day ago. think he will be charged now? can they do that after he was already cleared?

A Texas paramedic with a history of complaints against him is on administrative leave after he was seen on video kicking a homeless man in the head.
The Dallas Fire-Rescue Department released video this week from 2019 of paramedic Brad Cox telling police that he believed the homeless man had started a grass fire.
Video recorded on a police officer's body camera shows Cox telling the homeless man to get up before kicking him in the head. The video was obtained by WFAA.
In addition to being a paramedic, Cox is a trained MMA fighter who was wearing a fireman's boot at the time of the assault.

Looks like homeless dude not only came out swinging but nearly got them both killed as he initially drove the paramedic backwards into traffic.
If paramedic kept him subdued for both their safety to avoid another altercation near passing vehicles it may be justified. Can't tell how forceful the kicks were or where they actually landed. If he was using force to detain him for questioning by police, it may be deemed excessive.

It’s so sad that most local governments just let mentally ill drug addicts roam the streets and put their taxpayers in harm’s way. The word “homeless” to me just means mentally ill drug addict at this point. The vast majority of them are supporting an addiction and are batshit insane.

The homeless dude looks to be the aggressor and appears to attack the firefighter. Then once down the homeless person fails to follow the instructions of the firefighter to not move.
