I just saw this place in the old Steinmart in Hammond Aire Plaza. Is this equivalent to Planet Fitness?

Yes. Crunch, Anytime, 24 Hour, ATC, Planet...all pretty much the same thing.

Do they have a clunk alarm?

A cheap place with free weights and some bumpers would be nice.

Did the tour today, much different than a planet fitness…have Olympic platforms and bumper weights, tons of free weights and machines, classes and then the tanning and massage fluff stuff like Planet Fitness. Seriously considering joining, dropped ESPORTA formerly LA Fitness after they closed Perkins Rowe bc Seigan location was slammed 24/7

I go to one on Jackson. It's more hard core.

No, crunch and planet have totally different meanings.

No Crunch is your typical commercial gym. So you have barbells, free weights, no lunk alarm, etc. PF doesn’t even try to be a typical gym. They are a gym for “casual gym goers”.

It's no Powerhouse Gym, that's for sure.

It’s only a matter of time before the next gun battle erupts in the PF parking lot.

Mine has dumbbells that go up to 120 and under 50 there are 2.5 lb increments. Very convenient. Has ALOt of cardio machines. Mine has a bleachers platform at the back so I run bleachers. Still as they did back in the day. Several heavy bags

Also has a 25 or longer section of artificial turf so you can drag those sleds or whatever they are. Classes are decent.

I attend that Crunch. It's like Planet Fitness if Planet Fitness didn't suck so much dick.

It's got everything you could ever need to get a really good workout in regardless of sport concentration, unless you are a high level athlete at a particular sport (think powerlifters, for example). It's got platforms for oly lifting and deadlifting, all of your traditional bodybuilding machines and cable machines, dumbbells. Crossfit/HIIT areas. Prowler sleds, farmer carry machine.. etc. And classes on top of all of that.

It's a globogym but it's definitely not Planet Fitness.

I'm considering this as well. I really just use ESPORTA for the dry sauna after training. Currently paying $10/month for that and a pool that I never use. Would consider swapping over though.

I believe Crunch has one but haven't confirmed if it falls in their $10/month membership.

I go to Crunch and love it. Right next to my house. Cost me $10/month for the base but I don’t do all the other stuff anyway. Just need it for the weights and sauna.

They will try and sell you the more expensive package that’s like $30/month but really not necessary unless you want to do the classes and tanning bed.

I go to the BR location and yes the sauna is included.

The main issue is the gym is insanely packed in the evenings. Lots of equipment but every squat rack will be taken (all 10 or whatever).

I wish they’d raise the price to $40 a month for everyone to get rid of some of the people
