Getting past the Christmas/New Year’s numbers. I am not going to pay attention to how they are counting case numbers.

Hospitalizations tells the story. With our biggest holiday past and with vaccinations starting to get going (Louisiana is at 5 percent), this might be our last big surge of hospitalizations.

Not making a political post one way or another

Well when it affects the way people can live their lives and businesses are allowed to operate, it's a pretty big deal.

Not what I meant. I am talking about evaluating where we are in relation to Covid

The Thanksgiving-Christmas-New Years party trifecta is over, social networks have stabilized back to normal now for a bit.

Vaccinations won't start to impact hospitalizations until the 2 week of February

Is the J&J vaccine still expected to start being distributed in February? Since that's only one shot vs two, I expect that to be a big help.

I wouldn't know because the MSM is no longer showing the case stats in dramatic fashion on the screen at all times any more We are in a "minimization" period now, the light at the end of the tunnel will shortly, and suddenly, appear.

But not all residents opted to take it ... think it was like 50% at the facility where I consult.

Of course it is. Once Lord Biden got into office all the Covid-19 death counters were removed from all the socialist news sites.

Local grocery and wholesale stores are back to normal too. It’s not like a stepped on ant hill at all hours of the day, every single fricking day.

How they count cases is directly tied to "hospitalization" numbers.

If they tighten up what constitutes a case, then the number of hospitalizations drops.

You either need oxygen because you have Covid or you don’t.

All of this was supposed to be about hospitalizations and not overwhelming the medical system. Although the politics of all of this have gotten us away from that, that is still the way I judge where we stand.

I haven't had a thread to post this in a while, but "active" cases has declined 11,383 since 1/10, a decrease of 26.9%. The last time my active case count was under 31k was December 29.
