I drive this stretch of Jefferson Hwy multiple times during the week. It’s unreal how often I drive through and see absolutely zero workers.

Why is this? This has to play into why jobs like this take so long, right?

I rarely see anyone out there even at night.

What gives? Truly interested.

About every two weeks they take out the access bridges for a few hours, then rebuild them hours later. As far as I know that is the only work they do. Usually with no notice.

Oh, and they pump out the lakes that form when it rains.

1) Tear up existing road - 2 weeks

2) Plan next steps - 4 months

3) Repave a small section - 2 weeks

4) Plan next steps - 6 months

5) Finish road - 2 weeks

Probably only one asphalt supplier and they're taking forever to make it. Very likely getting it from a business along the river that only operates in the daytime to move trucks.

That would probably end up being much faster than whatever the hell they are actually doing.
