Was just coming to say the same thing. LSU didn’t offer me shite nearly 20 years ago.
TOPS requirements are in hell at this point and LSU knows this. Any kid staying in state that can write their name is getting TOPS.

Most certainly it will be a dumbass friend of Landry.

All the low iq rantards who swore this guy was the CRT boogetyman and was going to DEI it up at LSU can now rest easily until the next one comes along.

What I have seen over the last two years is that LSU doesn't give a frick about students. If a problem arises, you are completely on your own to figure it out. The faculty is lazy, often not showing up to class. Counselors are hard to reach. Our son was given a counselor who doesn't even work at the University anymore.

Can confirm. I’m very disappointed with LSU and really wish I would have encouraged my kid to go out of state.
I'm just curious what is going on, specifically, to lead to this sort of commentary.
Note: I only saw a counselor once at LSU, when they made me go for my degree audit (and I had no issues there). I don't even know what they're for.

We need way more CRT and DEI imo.

When you realize that “college” is simply a current extension of the global entertainment industry, it makes complete sense.
Universities aren’t there to educate or prepare an individual for life.
The purpose is to give an 18 year old 4 years of partying with very minimal hoops to jump through in order to receive a diploma at the end.
It is there to entertain, not educate.

That’s an extremely depressing view on college.
Because of that, I choose to not recognize it as such nor allow my children to do so either.

And LSU now accepts anyone that cam fog a mirror...
As long as you are receiving federal student support funding or can afford to pay out of state tuition. In state students are pretty much after thoughts and expendable.

Depressing or not, it is where college is.
Colleges receive funding through entertainment largely.
Sports teams
Most fun college towns
Whether or not your campus gym has a lazy river
There is money in entertainment, not education.
That isn’t to say that there aren’t people who choose universities for their libraries or research departments.
It is just that that group pales in comparison to the group that chooses a university based on non-educational factors.
Entertainment runs the world.

For the people losing it and sky screaming at Landry, the average tenure around the country for school presidents is 5-6 years.
All the turnover at struggling small religious liberal arts schools in the Midwest is irrelevant to LSU. What is happening at our peer and aspirational peer institutions?

This place had a massive meltdown when he was hired but it seemed like he was a good dude who did a good job. LSU could do much worse

I'm happy to be wrong.
My understanding ( admittedly, from this board) was that ACT scores had been lowered and LSU academic standards were lowered.
If I'm wrong, I'm glad.
