Ask him if he fells ill, I had that problem and it turns out I had acid reflux, got on medicine and, ahem excuse me, I haven't been clearing my throat.

Stepdad does this. Drives me crazy! I always want to offer some kind of cough drop or something but I refrain.

I had a guy that did this. Nonstop coughing and snorting and clearing his throat. I evidentially learned to ignore, however a bunch of ladies around me actually complained about it. Boss had to say something to him about it.

Coworkers making weird noises is one of my pet peeves. Clearing their throats, talking to themselves, humming, its all annoying.
