Him and others are pissed off that the WWE keeps bringing in old wrestlers and shoving them into the limelight when the roster guys are busting arse all year and getting pushed aside
That's the nature of the business, though. Every generation seems to go through this.

I don't know why people are so pissed at the old guard coming back
Because bringing the old guard back isn't a good thing. Someone like Batista, an out of shape 45 yr old, being handed everything on a silver platter is a WCW-like deal.
quote:
the wrestlers in WWE nowadays quite frankly are subpar at best.
This is absolutely false. The talent on the roster is as deep as its ever been. What's lacking big time is talent in the creative department. Notice how there are no feuds for the lesser belts? How none of the younger talent even gets a chance at a feud or to get over with the crowd? It's a complete joke.

Very few of them can work the mic
Wish they'd let one work the mic long enough for us to really determine that.
quote:
Look at the NAO. They are better on the mic than 95% of their current roster and better at telling a story in ring to boot even though they were mid-card during their time in WWF.
I love the NAO, but putting the belts on them was a slap in the face to the other tag teams that have been working every week. Usos, Real Americans, Prime Time Players, Wyatts, all scored wins over the Rhodes Bros, and none of them received a title shot or feud. It's stupid and lazy booking.
quote:
People keep whining about the old guard but they'd be damn pissed if we only had Cena/Orton/Punk/Bryan/Wyatt/Reigns/Sheamus/Del Rio /Langston as their big feuds heading into Mania
One day, WWE won't have the old guard to call upon anymore. Most of these wrestlers are pushing 50 years old. That's insane WWE feels they need to keep bringing them back when they should be coming back to help give the current roster credibility.
Nothing last forever, and honestly as we grow older (the generation that watched through the Attitude Era) I see the interest in wrestling plummeting. WWE needs our generation to get our kids interested and spend the money to keep them going.
I dropped $55 on the Rumble, an felt like a fool afterward. Fool me once...

He may be making the switch. He was at the UFC event this past weekend which aired on FOX. Could just be coincidence, but could be something behind it. They showed him on T.V. and I didn't know who he was until they said CM Punk, then I recognized the name. Wouldn't be surprised if he makes the jump, the heavyweight division could certainly use a spark in the UFC.
He would get crushed in the Heavyweight division. Probably in any division if he was fighting big time competition
And the UFC has some good talent in that division and talent that could move to that division

Here is what CM punk said during his pipe bomb the last time he left
"The reason I’m leaving is you people. Because after I’m gone, you’re still going to pour money into this company. I’m just a spoke on the wheel. The wheel is going to keep turning and I understand that. Vince McMahon is going to make money despite himself. He’s a millionaire who should be a billionaire. You know why he’s not a billionaire? Because he surrounds himself with glad-handed, non-sensical, douchebag (censored) yes men, like John Laurinaitis, who’s going to tell him everything he wants to hear, and I’d like to think that maybe this company will better after Vince McMahon is dead. But the fact is, it’s going to be taken over by his idiotic daughter and his doofus son-in-law and the rest of his stupid family."
I think he feels the same now
and this bullshite

Sounds like a work.
So Punk, Bryan, and Ziggler form a faction that bitches about the old guys. Sounds alot like the old WCW with the "new breed" (Mike Sanders, Stasiak, Chuck Polumbo), except with much better wrestlers now, and social media to rile up the masses. Should make an interesting angle. I do miss "Above Average" Mike Sanders on the mike.

its sad, in the 90s the iraqi military general was the heel, today the team of americans is the heel.

And what's even more funny is the RA are so over with the fans, that they are more tweeners than heels.

Would be epic. Sadly WWE Creative could never think of something this clever.

Yes, maybe, but I don't see that over-the-top charisma on the mic that the Attitude Era crew had on either show. You might be on to something stating that creative really gives them ZERO storylines to work with and no time on the mic to most of the younger talent. I also don't think they cater to their talents' strengths on the mic.
Bryan is a beast, but, honestly, WWE has pigeon holed their wrestlers into a certain style that makes the matches repetitive and boring outside of the rare few that aren't, mostly involving him. I've cooled on even Punk lately.
It's a shame that Vince is such a tool as AJ Styles vs. Daniel Bryan would be a fricking amazing feud that not even the WWE could screw up.
WWE is not going to be what any of us on this board want it to be as long as the PG era rolls along. It's that simple. There's no edginess to any of the feuds. Punk/Taker was the last feud that had any edge to it with the urn.
The old guard coming back is fun in the way that only they are allowed to break that PG barrier it seems. It's bullcrap, but it seems true. Batista, Rock, Lesnar, NAO, etc. can call people asses, joke about boning people's moms, call Vicky a hoe, flip the bird to fans, and joke about not being able to say suck it, because they know right now Vince needs them and they probably have every advantage when it comes to the creative table and their role in WWE.

Every generation hasn't had to watch their favorite superstars get pushed aside to allow for old, subpar, out of shape "wrestlers" come and steal the spot light out from under them year after year.
Batista being shoved down our throats right now is about as bad as it could ever be. He was embarrassed Sunday night because the fans know what they like and what they don't. The Rock wouldn't have been boo'd like that. It's because it was Batista.
Will anyone who watches the product regularly really say that they would rather Batista in the main event at Mania over Bryan, Punk or Ziggler? Those are just a few that get shite on. Why not build up rivalries with guys who are chomping at the bit like Cesaro, Reigns and the Shield guys, The Wyatts, etc. There is enough talent now to not have to bring in any of the past generation. WWE, namely Triple H, is afraid to admit that his generation isn't the best anymore.

I dunno... these replacement officials have been awful. One didn't even see Cena loosen the turnbuckle the other night and smash his opponents head with it. And how long are they gonna forget to check under the ring for spare lightweight aluminum ladders and staircases?

What price tag do you think it would take the WWE to bring rock back full time? It would have to be considerably more than what he makes with his movies I'd have to think.
I'll like WWE now but it will never and I mean evvvveeerrrrrrrr be what it was in the AE and that sucks big time
