Chinese spy balloon spotted over Montana, and no one really seems to be talking about it

LINK

quote:

The government has been monitoring a suspected Chinese surveillance balloon that has been hovering over the northern U.S. for the past few days, and they have discussed shooting it out of the sky, according to two U.S. officials and a senior defense official.

quote:

The high-altitude balloon was spotted over Billings, Montana, on Wednesday. It flew from the Aleutian Islands, through Canada, and into Montana. A senior defense official said the balloon is still over the U.S. but declined to say where it is now

quote:

The U.S. is confident the balloon belongs to China, the official said, and they have communicated to the Chinese government "through multiple channels both here in D.C. and in Beijing." The official did not say whether the Chinese admitted the balloon was theirs.

Should tell you that US intelligence is absolutely bogus or the Media lies like hell.

I suspect both.

Why are they just discussing shooting it out of the sky? Shouldn’t that be a given?

I can’t imagine that thing stays up much longer. Didn’t read the article so idk how high it is but I guarantee some good ol boys are debating the safety of lofting a few 300 wm it’s way.

Seems if it’s our airspace we should blow it out the sky immediately without discussion.

Either incompetence or fairy tale. One of the two.

If its really Chinese, I imagine some US politicians got paid for it.

What info would a large balloon provide that several other discrete and more controlled methods would not?

Probably sanctioned and permitted by the US government for China.

The fact that they only considered shooting it down is proof the US government likely supports this, in Scruffy’s opinion.

The frickin Japs sent balloon bombs over the lake to us during WW2. Actually killed a few people. One of those stories lost to time for most people.

It is a spy balloon over Montana.

The odds it would land on anything not nature is tiny.

A foreign enemy is flying spy balloons over our soil for days and we just dont give a shite. This thing should have been taken down the second it arrived

I'm not one for conspiracies, but I don't think it would be a bad idea to double up on security at our Coca-cola plants.
