Sorry, man. Sounds as though the defendants are being treated better than you by the legal system.
If this doesn't get tried in September, I would hope that the voters toss the trial judge.
Best to you, Cork.

You all are the best for weighing in on this matter -- I really appreciate it as I try to sort all this out.
My case is in the New Orleans area -- for discretion's sake, even after all I've revealed, I guess I should only say that -- which means Orleans/Jeff/Plaq/Tammany/StBernard/St.Charles.
My attorney has apparently helped craft certain statutes in the Legislature and has been in the game for roughly three decades.
He doesn't seem fazed by the new development/new lawyer. But if things had to move on to an appeal stage because of these new wrinkles, I don't think he'd be bothered by the continuing billable hours.
I think our case would be even stronger on appeal, given the improprieties that would have to be committed to get it there -- but obviously I don't want to have to spend the dough to rectify an effed-up shite-uation.

Another interesting wrinkle to those interested:
My ex was hit with supervised visitation after her hospitalization. Turns out that her husband also has supervised visitation with HIS kid.
Her husband went back to court and tried to get more custody, and who was made supervisor of his visitation with his kid. MY EX, who had supervised visitation of her/or kid.
Now, the lawyer for my ex was also the lawyer for her husband. HE KNEW ALL THIS. HE KNEW THAT MY EX WASN'T ALLOWED UNSUPERVISED VISITATION WITH HER KID. But the lawyer didn't tell the hearing officer. Something stinks.

ETA: BUT, I don't think it's a conflict to have the same attorney to represent both individuals in this situation. Pretty sure it's not.
