"Chief of Diversity" doing work

I'm not sure how another person tipping a cab driver makes you a better nurse, doctor, or tech but these are the lessons Ochsner is forcing it's employees to sit through.
Friend who sent this answered the stupid question correctly but we all know it's the "wrong" answer for the Chief

I bet that “Chief of Diversity” really doesn’t want to ask restaurant servers about “racial disparity of tipping”. That shitte ain’t a stereotype, it’s real.

I know that says "taxi" but I've had pretty shitty and pretty great rideshare drivers of all races and genders over the years.

Exactly what I told friend... "next slide showing tipping practices at restaurants vs race"

A white taxi driver? Can’t say I’ve experienced this

What about the fact that “diverse” riders rarely tip at all?
Posted on 12/4/20 at 10:56 am to Bruco
I haven't had many white taxi drivers in my life.
I've probably taken Uber/Lyft 8-10 times and a few of them have been white. Pretty much the only time we've used those services is when we were out drinking and I probably wayyy over tipped.

Last I heard, tip amounts were determined by the tipper. So...

Here's a novel concept:
If you do business with an individual for some service, and that individual adequately renders that service and satisfies, or goes beyond your expectations, tip them accordingly. If they are lacking, or fail miserably to meet your expectations, also tip accordingly. Leave the drummed up race bullshite out of it.

frick tipping and those that advocate for it

Does not compute
Also, as a few previous posts mentioned, the irony is overwhelming. These same people who bitch about racial discrimination tip like shite at restaurants or on deliveries. And they wonder why they receive poor service.
As someone who worked as a pizza delivery driver in college, I noticed that the worst tippers were almost always black. Not only did they tip poorly, but they were the most likely to be rude or make my job difficult. Nothing about that is racist; it is purely observational.
I would be lying if I said I put the same amount of effort into customer service for orders going to those certain neighborhoods as opposed to other, more affluent ones.

You know they are going to read into that to assume the answered implies that white people are friendlier and safer drivers. my answer would have been along the lines of...
Not enough information provided. Need to know the disparity between white riders to white drivers, white riders to nonwhite drivers, nonwhite riders to white drivers, and nonwhite riders to nonwhite drivers to formulate a proper response to a question implying race is the only factor contributing to tipping differences.

They really want to go down the black people/tipping path, huh?

Yeah, I'm not sure tipping is an area they want to do a deep dive study on in regards to racial disparities.

I expect nothing less from ochsner

I noticed the Buffalo Wild Wings near me started automatically adding a 18% gratuity on every bill during their cheap $.50 Tuesday wing night awhile back. At first I was confused but took one look around the restaurant and realized their logic.

Let's turn this around: How often are white passengers subject to tip(reasonable %) vs. non-white? As someone who used to work in the service industry, it's an obvious answer...
