Cheap or inexpensive phone plans

I’ve been with Verizon for about 10 years never read had a issue with service or coverage- I’m on the road a lot and on the phone as well. So sometimes Its a relief to have a little break when you don’t have coverage.
Before that ATT no real issues, I think I switched because Verizon had a deal on smart phones.
Anyway, this radio ad caught my attention I think consumer cellular? It’s amazing how much price difference in plans.
Has anyone had any experience with them?

I think it really depends on where you live.
Regarding Consumer Cellular, I’ve family in rural MS who have it and swear by it.

I live in Baton Rouge and my subdivision or house has poor cellular reception so I just use WiFi.
Thanks

T-Mobile. Had it for over twenty years. Unlimited everything on four lines. Four phones subsidized. $260 a month.
Only issue I have is spotty service in some rural areas and crowded places like Tiger Stadium.
5G pretty much everywhere.

I just switched to Puretalk on January 1. No problems whatsoever. Got to keep my same phone and number and have unlimited everything for like $55/month.
ETA: I think they do slow down the data after 60 gigs, but I never come remotely close to that in a month.

I have used Mint since December. So far, so good. No issues other than setup took more time than I anticipated. Very, very cheap. I had AT&T for many years.

Go ride through the hood and stop at one of the free Obama phone tents

Cricket. Owned by ATT and on their network. Switched from ATT a few years ago. No difference in service. Unlimited everything on 4 lines $130 per month. I travel Louisiana for work and have never had an issue.

Cricket Wireless is the way to go! It's owned by AT&T and uses their technology/cell towers.

I switched to mint in December and no issues. I travel extensively for work and haven’t had any issues. It’s $30/mo.

Prepaid plans are probably the best deals if you already have a phone.

I used mint for a little bit, but had too many dead zones in Ascension and south Baton Rouge

my buddy uses the Walmart phone plan and loves it. and he's the biggest hipster Walmart hater I know. He just hates AT&T and Verizon more

I’ve heard that you get prioritized behind the majors when on the off-brand providers. Maybe that’s the major’s talking point to discourage you to switch.
This particular user thought their speed was down graded in high traffic areas when compared to major users in those areas. For example: sitting with a group of people in a bar and they would be the only one struggling with cell speed.

That's not any better than Verizon. I have had Verizon for probably 15-20 years and got it originally because I traveled a lot and needed good coverage. Paying 315 a month for 4 lines unlimited everything. In that price at least 60 dollars or so is going to pay off some of the phones, so in another year or so it will drop down to the same price you pay.

Had T-Mobile for many years on an old grandfathered Simple Choice NA plan. I get unlimited everything for 4 lines for 106 dollars a month taxes included.
We buy all of our phones outright and never subsidize them through T-mobile, which would force us to change our plan. Which is very easy to do if you dont have to have an iPhone.
Key for tmobile is to catch them on their free line for life offers. They will honor them.
