Also, no storebought, and no candy.

On Tuesday, February 14, we will be exchanging valentines. We would like to encourage the children to make their own cards so please don’t send in any store bought cards or candy. Candy will not be given out.

A simple heart made out of construction paper is fine. Some ideas for decorating would be glitter, stickers, doilies, paint, etc. Please send in cards with only your child’s name on them (not the children whom they will give it to.) This is a great opportunity for the children who are writing to practice their names.

Toddler: 9 cards

Primary 1: 23 cards

Primary 2: 21 cards

Lower Elementary 1: 21 cards

Lower Elementary 2: 18 cards

That is really stupid. What kid or adult wants a pile of paper hearts and no candy?

That is why they can't have nice things (like candy!).

Now there is no benefit to being a cute or nice kid in class. No more better candy with your name on it.

I didn't lead with that, I left it out of the headline on purposes, because they is secondary to the primary issue.

been that way for years. my kid re adults now and they had to do that when i school. reason then was it was quicker to pass out if no names instead of searching for each name and trying to give them out

I feel you.

We run the "Biden: 10% for the big guy" plan at my house, so this does seem like an issue.

No candy? Gen X teachers shouldn't be this dull and should remember our roots.

Won’t the paper hearts remind kids of myocarditis?

That was a lie
It’s so the undesirables don’t get their feelings hurt

It's going to stigmatize the kids who have shitty cards.

One kid has arts-and-crafts mommy and their cards will look professional. Then the other kid just has drunk daddy and all his cards will look like shite and have a streak of copenhagen or a beer coaster ring on them.

They'll all start wondering and whispering about his home life. They'll start looking at you funny in the carpool line. The kid senses it. This isn't healthy for developmental minds.

No Candy? But, I bet they still serve meat in the cafeteria when candy is way healthier.
