Does this teach you how to dance to songs?
Why does every clip someone posts from it have people doing these weird choreographed dance moves?
Does it do anything else?
I'm not a boomer, have no social media, and no friends so I have no where else to turn for these answers.

It's Chinese spyware. A front for Chinese intelligence to spy on Americans, Europeans and basically the whole world. Avoid it at all costs.
The Pentagon banned it from all electronic devices they own and the DOJ is enacting a similar measure with their own equipment IIRC.

I haven't been able to understand why they don't just dance for 15 seconds on Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Zoom, Facetime, or any of the other identical social media platforms. I need to get in on this copycat app inventing thing that you just rename with something catchy

It’s like vine or youtube. Kids make short videos, less than 30 seconds. Some dance, some show off fashion or makeup, some are comedic, some are video game or athletic feats, some are impersonations, lip-syncing, singing, or cute animals.
