They happen all over the globe, even significant tornadoes. Not Antarctica, though. All other continents have tornadoes.

I was surprised to read this just now, though. I haven't read any deeper than the "thought.com" article this is from:

Daulatpur-Saturia Tornado, Bangladesh, 1989

This April 26, 1989, storm was about a mile wide and traveled ?50 miles through poor areas of the Dhaka region of Bangladesh. Along with the U.S. and Canada, this is one of the countries most frequently hit by tornadoes. The death toll, estimated at 1,300, was due in large part to the shoddy construction in the slums that couldn't withstand the brute force of the twister, which ultimately left 80,000 people homeless. More than 20 villages were leveled and 12,000 people were injured.

BEIJING: Two tornadoes ripped through China's central city of Wuhan and a town in the eastern province of Jiangsu, killing 12 people and injuring hundreds while destroying homes and property, the official Xinhua news agency said on Saturday (May 15).

Eight people were reported dead in Wuhan, in Hubei province, with 280 injured after Friday's tornado ripped through the district of Caidian about 8.40pm local time, the agency said.

The tornado toppled 27 houses and damaged 130 more, as well as two tower cranes and 8,000 sq m of sheds at construction sites, it added.

China faces more extreme weather as a result of climate change, Jia Xiaolong, an official of the forecaster, told reporters late in April, adding that the risk of disasters such as heat waves and floods was expected to rise in coming years.

"If only the US would do more to cut our emissions and stop polluting the world, china wouldn't have such terrible weather."
