BRPD: Mother arrested, accused of suffocating 4-month-old

Baton Rouge Police responded to a home on Alexander Ave. on June 18th for an unresponsive infant. The infant died at the scene.
An autopsy by the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office ruled suffocation as the cause of death.
Officials say Thomas is accused in her daughter’s death. She’s now charged with one count of negligent homicide.
