sounds like failed leadership to me, but let me guess who will be blamed now

This now brings us to vaccines. As you’ve heard me say before, we do not have a local health department in East Baton Rouge and city budgets were not designed for pandemics like this, but I want you to know I work every day to advocate for more access, more testing and more vaccines in our community. That is why in addition to continuing to engage our medical community on our weekly calls, we will be launching a community task force to look at how we can be more equitable with our vaccine distribution and better message the importance of getting the vaccine to our under-represented communities.

We have three major hospitals in the Parish, you dolt. You don't need a local health department.

East Baton Rouge Health Unit

If they can't help with this, why do they exist?

Maybe take the salaried employees you have working on changing the street names in Shenandoah and put them on this.

Every major city in the state of LA seems to be run like a 3rd world country. I feel bad for good people who have to put up with that when so many cities of similar sizes throughout the country are ran well or at a minimum, ran much better.

here’s a bit of advice: if you want to get anything done in this city you better be providing a tax payer funded luncheon for the Mayor and 10 of her closest allies. Until that happens, the conversation ain’t happening

Why would a parish with 450,000 residents, 7 hospitals (including 1 mega hospital with 1100+ rooms), at least 15 urgent car centers, countless pharmacies, and probably 20-30 primary care offices need more than 1 health unit?

If anything, they should be spending the cash improving the mental health facilities and their prison. The substantial medical infrastructure already in place should be able to distribute vaccines efficiently.

Louisiana received $42 million from the Federal Dept. of Health and Human Services for vaccine distribution a few weeks ago. You know a substantial percentage of that money came to Baton Rouge. I would love to know where it has gone.

From what I understand, Louisiana is failing to secure enough doses to meet demand. They can set up all the infrastructure to do it, but it means jack shite if they don't have enough doses.

Don't move to Illinois. Louisiana is ahead of us when it comes to everything related to the handling of this pandemic and vaccine distribution.

And Louisiana isn't doing a stellar job with any of it. Illinois is just that bad.

Ever notice the almost comical overuse of the term ‘community’ by Broome and others of her ilk?

That’s some good buzzword soup right there. Just another do-nothing politician.

What exactly the hell do y’all expect to happen when you call them “mayor presidents?” You expect them to try to be LESS self serving? You get what you vote for.
