Fake it until you push the wrong button

A former British Airways pilot was jailed for fraud after admitting he falsified his flying experience.

A source told The Times that suspicions arose after he pressed a button "no qualified pilot would."

The former pilot faked training certificates and falsely claimed to have flown 1,610 hours as a captain.

A former British Airways pilot was sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty to falsifying his flying experience.

He was handed a 12-month sentence at Snaresbrook Crown Court in East London, UK, on Monday after pleading guilty to four counts of fraud and two breaches of the Air Navigation Order 2016

Officials at BA CityFlyer first became suspicious after an incident "on the ground" in Switzerland when the pilot pressed a button "no qualified pilot would," a source told The Times, without providing further details.

He was investigated by the CAA, which took legal action.

Curious as to what the button was.

All that being said…. He still got thru training and passed his checkride. Maybe it’s not that hard after all.

Makes you wonder why the button exists.

Why have buttons that no pilot would ever push.

Obviously most of the buttons are just there for show and/or to weed out the fakes.

I can't believe BA didn't make this go away quietly. Not the kind of news you want getting out.

"We don't run proper background checks and your next pilot might not be trained."

That "trained" affirmative-action Atlas Air pilot did and nosedived into Trinity Bay.

I like an outside the box thinker. Too many people these days just follow procedures like some kind of robot.
