Don't care about his tale of woe. He's only homeless cause he chooses to be so. He could get help if he wanted to, but he prefers the homeless lifestyle. No sympathy for him. Arrest him or make him leave.

Didn't see the video but there's a such thing as grassroots ministry and sharing the gospel. Jesus did it.

Amen! You don't go where people are "well", you go where people are "sick".

always wondered about all of these churches and ministries that seek out people to help in places like Haiti, Jamaica, Venezuela, etc., and go on these trips and come back and report to their congregations like they've been on deployment or something, why don't we TCB at home first?

I don't know what TCB means... but many congregations do both local and away missions. Mine certainly does.

Thanks for the explanation... but yeah, churches do both. Sometimes I've thought my own church leaned to heavily into foreign missions, but over the past few years they've definitely ramped up local mission work.

Couldn't you chose to be a billionaire? If everyone got what they want because they chose it, we'd be all multimillionaire, banging 10s. Life is not only just about choosing a path and a desired outcome, but also things that happen outside of our control(genetics, environment growing up) that affects and limit us.

I think there’s some truth to what you say, but having been involved with homeless shelters the hard truth as was mentioned is that most homeless men are so by choice, addiction or mental illness.

The gospel isn’t going to help those people and they’re often violent or dangerous to try to work with before they’re ready making the third world more productive and frankly safer.

If you are a Christian, and you can type those words, you really need to pray and get in the word my brother because those are words that should never come out of the heart of a Christian.

Whoa, whoa, whoa…”homeless guy”??

That’s offensive. Please use “unhoused person.” We don’t really care about the people, we just care about the phrasing

Do I agree it’s important to make sure they know where to find help? Absolutely.

But have you spent any time hands on working with heroin addicts or schizophrenics off their meds in the ghetto?

If not maybe do that before you start telling me about my faith or what the realities of working with that group are.

For the vast majority of them all they care about is their next fix or their mania until they’re ready to seek help on their own terms.

Until that happens they’re dangerous to themselves and anyone around them when they’re dope sick or having a manic episode and most people simply aren’t trained or equipped to safely handle those situations.

Pray for them, help fund groups who spread the word about where they can find help and attack the scourge that is the drug epidemic gutting our nation, but be very careful before you wander into the wrong places preaching the gospel.

There are plenty of YouTube videos showing the realities of what social workers on the front lines actually deal with daily out there.
