Dude, it is satirically written. It might not be satire in his mind, but it is most certainly, definitely, satirically written.

I don't think you understand what satire is

Well it IS a landmark. You can't argue with that.

Bottom line is that it's not owned by the building owner.

He says it is.

quote:

Mike Crouch, who bought the building in 2013 through MDC Properties and is leasing it to Cane’s, contends he owns the sign and deserves to be compensated for insurance, maintenance and ad space.

Isn't that the whole issue?

He's delusional. Arts council is going to snatch that sign off that building.

You honestly don't believe the fricking quotes I have posted in this thread is something other than satirically written?

The wild analogies and exaggeration, the snark, all most common elements of satire.

Theft? They own the sign and have documentation of it.

All of the quotes I posted in this thread since that article was posted were direct excerpts from that article. The words, the syntax, it was all cut in the vein of satire.

But it's not sarcastic. This specific article isn't. It's straightforwardly criticizing the building owner.

He obviously had to pay extra for the sign. Personally, if I didn't want it on my building I'd want to make some money off the deal.

I don't have a problem with capitalism.

The deal was the sign wasn't included with the building. He doesn't own the sign.
