Then you deserved to die by pit-bull.

If he came in contact with said pit bull his parents would find him rag dolled just like those other poor folks did. As William Munney said:

"Deserves got nothin to do with it."

That has to be at least the 10th time you've said that they are bred to kill people

What are they bred for?

And I don't really give a shite either way about pit bulls, but I will step in and defend them from people like you spewing idiocy.

I don't make up the numbers. The bull terrier breeds kill a disproportionate amount of people, especially kids. I know, I've said that 10 times, but nobody has challenged that. So where is my idiocy?

AH! So the legal penalty for trespassing should be changed to death. I got it.

I guess you haven't read the thread.

Yeah. There weren't pit-bulls on every street. Violent crime has gone down in those years. I do not live by the fear doctrine.

I would take a Pit bull over the Dalmation my neighbors had as a child, easily the most violent dog I have ever been around. Idk where you live, but my area has definitely not gone down in violent crime. Your ignorance is hilarious.

pits can be great dogs but there's a genetic inheritancy in them that often times sooner or later, they lose their shite and kids are unusually the ones on the short end of the stick.

You say that, then say this:
quote:

its like you can take the dogs out the ghetto but you can never fully take the ghetto out the dogs.

My point from earlier is that most of these attacks seem to come from these "ghetto" dogs, whereas normal pits raised in normal, responsible households don't tend to eat children for shits and giggles.

Same thing if there are any other bigger breeds of dog that are raised irresponsibly, I'd bet they're more likely to attack/harm/kill than ones that are raised differently.

And all of that is beside the point that there is a huge media bias against pit bulls anyway. There have been (National Canine Research Council) studies done where dog attacks get writtena bout in a few papers versus a pit attack that is covered by hundreds of media outlets. So that's also a reason you hear more about pits than any other dogs. Similar to the whole "nobody reports on police doing good things; only bad things" sentiment.

I live in America. Have you looked at the statistics on violent crime over the last 30 years? Or do you just watch Fox and local news?

Your reliance on anecdotal evidence confirms the above.

No.

I don't see a rabid dog as falling under that category. The end result might be the same, but I have never seen a dog enumerated as an attractive nuisance.

I should charge you law school tuition for all these lessons I'm giving you.

What are some typical attractive nuisances? Typical attractive nuisances include:

Swimming pools and fountains
Machinery (lawnmowers, gasoline pumps, etc)
Wells and tunnels
Dangerous animals
Paths and stairs

To aid in baiting/hunting animals.

Other dogs are also capable of killing 6 year olds.. What's your point?

You may as well be defending having your kid hang out with a pedophile by saying that other people are also capable of sexually abusing your child. Sure the pedophile may not have sex with your kid, but why bother when it's in his nature to do horrible things and something other people don't do.

Already paid it. Long time ago. I have never seen a dog bite case argued as an attractive nuisance. But then again, I don't handle dog bites.

Per statistics, crime overall is steadily decreasing. But you just hear about it a lot more (and a lot faster) than you used to.

What is the deal with all of the pit bull lovers in here? Is there no other breed of dog that meets your dog needs? I am good with letting the current batch die out so you don't have to kill your current dog but let's stop allowing new ones to be made

I'll do my best to let the current batch die but I'm not promising anything.

If you're saying that when you were 6, your parents didn't know where you were most of the time, I am calling bullshite on that.

OK, they knew where I was when I was 6 because I was either in my yard or the next door neighbor's yard, but they weren't out there watching over me like a fricking hawk the way some think today. I played outside without parental supervision when I was 6. If you want to call bullshite, you can, but you're wrong.

Other dogs can do that. And I'm pretty sure the dog in this story wasn't used for those purposes.

I have no idea. You're the one that brought the "ghetto dog" term into the discussion.

The difference is that the pedophile is a known molester while the dog is unknown. You're making a pretty big leap with your analogy.

If you want to make the argument consistent, then you would have to compare the pedophile to a dog that has a history of attacks against children.

"Crime in the United States has been recorded since colonization. Crime rates have varied over time, with a sharp rise after 1963, reaching a broad peak between the 1970s and early 1990s. Since then, crime has declined significantly in the United States,[1] and current crime rates are approximately the same as those of the 1960s"

Stop being scared.
