Each holiday they get nutttier and nuttier. I don’t remember the previous generation acting the fool as they got older like this.
As a boomer myself, I’m curious how you know about previous generations since the overwhelming majority of them are gone.

So, a normal day in Houston?
The traffic for Katy mills backed up I-10 all the way to 99 a few days ago.

That’s what Boomers are like. Perpetual adolescents.
Seems like you are the one pitching the tantrum.

You have a situational problem with your mother-in-law, and it’s an entire generation’s fault. Sounds about right for a millennial.
See how that works?
Sounds like a kid who didn't get the Christmas present he asked for.

I’m in my 40s and remember my grandparents. Doesn’t seem crazy.

My old inlaws aren't too "nutty" but my MIL approach to these holiday gatherings never makes sense. It's plan, prepare, over coordinate to make sure everyone is there, then spend the whole time piddering around and miss the whole thing.
Lead up: taking things in and out of fridge/microwave... doesnt matter how simple the meal, she will find a way to make it as involved as beef wellington. It could be Popeyes and shell insist on arranging the boxes just so..getting out these plates vs those
Meal: ots always serve yourself..she insists on going last and won't budge. As everyone eats she sits at the island calling out...do you have napkins..everyone have a drink? Did you get enough.... we've tried waiting but just eating has become the norm and we're jalf done the meal by the time she sits... so have to sit and linger at the table while she eats, but will eventually have some thing she needs to find
Tonight she missed most of the socializing after the meal because she was in her room searching for some poem she wanted to recite.
Then the gift giving....everyone gets about a dozen tiny gifts no matter the age... it's just a barrage of little things...literally got everything from a bsck scratcher to a bag of beef Jerry amlung other things tonight... that many people and that many gifts we just get opening to get through...I didn't even really thank her till 30 minutes after everyone was done opening cause there was so much to be preoccupied with and so much going on.
More o talk to friends more this seems like boomer norm. Cram as much activity and perfection into an event to the detriment of actually enjoying the event. It's exhausting to attend and watch and honestly kinda sad.
Really looking forward to our households agenda less day tomorrow.

lol, I’ve never heard a boomer say we put too much pressure on young people. This young person I heard say that is a 38 year old millennial.
Some of these people in my generation still don’t want to grow up and leave the house going in 40.
We are the fricked ones.

Is the boomer in the room with us right now?

The church usher asked for everyone to turn their cell phones off before mass tonight. The only one that rang was the 72 year old Boomer in the pew in front of me. And she made sure to have it on full blast.
Cheers granny!

You get all that from Boomer Facebook? A so-called Boomer is one thing, attention seeking non-boomers looking to validate themselves on some anonymous message board is a different story.

You're describing women, not boomers.
