Boards opinion on new nuclear power plants?

What's say you? I believe we need them, whether it be traditional style, or the new small modular reactors - and there are many types/ styles currently being developed.
I believe we really screwed up as a country when we allowed an anti-nuclear attitude to grow and fester.

It’s “NEW-key-yur” dummy.
You didn’t even pronounce it correctly.

I want 100% green energy, cheap electricity bills, and no dams or wind turbines to obstruct my views. And especially no nuclear. Too dangerous.
Now make it happen.

It's something that needs to be heavily regulated, but with advances in technology, there's no reason we can't build safe nuclear power plants.
Then of course there's the logistics of what to do with spent materials. But we should definitely be moving forward with it IMHO.

We'll march 'till we drop
The girls and the fellas.
We'll fight 'till the death
Or else fold like umbrellas.
So we'll march day and night
By the big cooling tower.
They have the plant
But we have the power.

Nuclear and natural gas fired plants are extremely clean and safe, but let’s cancel those and build wind turbines that generate 75kw!

More. More more more. Then more. Then release regulatory burdens and build more. Molten salt/thorium. Go nuts.
In the meantime, make diesels run on natural gas, make natural gas electrical plants. Use natural gas, the most abundant energy source the US has, in everything we can.

Nuclear reactors are one of the safest technologies we have.
Many types eat their own waste
Liberals can’t push their agendas with them, so it won’t happen

It's really the best option that we have, so I say go for it.
If only the infrastructure bill was completely about infrastructure and less about political pork bullshite.

Our nuclear plants are old and need to be replaced. The country doesn't care until something happens, but we need new plants.

Well Alabama has a whopping 2 nuclear facilities in operation. Those 2 generated 32% of power for the entire state in 2020.
So yeah, I think we need more.
Wrote some software for browns ferry plant forever ago.

Micro reactors are the future.

The future of nuclear in this country is pretty grim. The left will only allow wind and solar to be considered and will do everything to stand in the way of anything other than those 2 options despite the fact that they're both inefficient and require a massive amount of resources to produce/maintain.

This has been the popular rumor for the last decade but will never happen. Thorium salt reactors won't happen in this country.

And it is only considered as long as those turbines and plants aren't built anywhere near their lily-white rich neighborhoods.
