Which of the cities is the most attractive? I think Chattanooga would be a nice place, but Hunstville is growing at a real fast pace it seems. Birmingham proper gets shite on a lot but the outskirts are really nice.

Attractive?

Chattanooga's Lookout Mountain and HSV's Monte Sano may give BHM's Red Mountain a run for the money, but the latter is much more livable / drinkable / fun.

Plus the Birmingham metro is a lot larger. It's why I live here.

If Huntsville, it has to be now, the housing market is crazy and likely isn't slowing down anytime soon. Of course, Huntsville is becoming a major metro area. You can live near Huntsville for much less and still have all the benefits readily available.

What do you do for a living? Huntsville is diversifying gradually but engineering fields, specifically pertaining to government contracts, still dominate the job market

Huntsville by a landslide of those 3. If your talking about Birmingham, you’re really talking about the other side of the mountain and Shelby County. Chattanooga has the advantage of no state income tax.

It's not Birmingham, that's for sure.

I lived in Chattanooga my entire life, up until a few years ago. It's a great town but it was changing quite a bit before I left. A lot of outsiders moving in that have given the city "cute" names like "Chattytown" and "The Noog".

I really miss the food, though.

It can be...near the dam and the 75/24 split at rush hour. Ever been to Atlanta?
