Not big, but recent in these parts.
Where is this man's head and who took it?

Another freaky one is the random bird kills. One in Arkansas and one in the Middle East somewhere. Every fall at a certain time of day all the birds in about a square mile fall out of the sky dead.

The one in Arkansas was mass suicide
ISIS killed the ones in the ME because they could see their balls when they flew over.

Puma Punku Scattered around the ancient ruins of Puma Punku at Tiahuanaco are hundreds of solid stone blocks of various sizes and interlocking shapes. To the eyes of people in the 21st century, these shapes are not bizzare. In fact, they seem quite familiar. Modern building techniques usually employ high-powered tools to drill holes in stone and route perfect geometric shapes that cannot be achieved by hand tools. Then, the reality of the scene hits you: This is not a site of modern building. It is, in fact, possibly the oldest site known to mankind. Believed to be constructed 14,000 years ago, Puma Punku's perfectly drilled holes in repeating patterns of mathematical precision and acurately, routed shapes, and interlocking engineering could only have been acheived through the use of tools that didn't exist until the industrial revolution of the 1800's. And even then, some of the precision work found at Puma Punku could not have been acheived until computer-assisted diamond-tipped CNC routers were developed in the 1960's. These facts are confirmed by every archeologist and engineer that has visited the site and studied the ruins. Under high-powered microscopes, scientists can see that the holes drilled were done so in the same means as used today, an impossible feat for the stone and bronze-wielding inhabitants of this pre-Columbian civilization.
I've often wondered if the answer to this is that they were just much better at stone masonry back then than we are now. The world's brilliant people of our time (Einstein, Gates, etc.) would never even begin to think about working with stone, but the Einstein of 14,000 years ago may have developed a way to work with stone that has been lost over time

I think it's that most believe the tools didn't exist to do it regardless of skill level.

I'm not satisfied we ever figured out how the dinosaurs died. It's like scientists got tired of thinking about it and said frick it, let's just say a comet did it.
We have not exactly figured out but scientist did not just say frick it a comet did it. Look up the KT boundary and the Chicxulub crater. The environment was probably already going down hill for our dino friends and the asteroid or comet just provided the nail in the coffin.
